Aalmi Idara Ishaat Uloom-e-Islamia (International Organization for the Publication of Islamic Knowledge)
The core message of the Quran emphasises that its teachings should be disseminated to establish Islam as the most favoured religion of God. This divine mission was initially carried out by a team of prophets. After the end of prophethood, this responsibility was passed on to every Muslim. When Muslims dedicated themselves to this mission, they received the support and blessings of God. However, as they drifted away from this duty, they lost divine patronage and faced decline. As other religions grew in prominence, Muslims lost ground in the field of religious propagation.
In the current century, known as the century of literature, revolutionary changes have been brought about through literary efforts. Notably, Christians and Mirzai (Qadianese) have been very active in spreading their messages. To counteract their influence, Munshi Abdul Rehman Khan founded the Aalmi Idara Ishaat Uloom-e-Islamia in 1965. The organization aims to foster religious awakening and instill the true spirit of Islam through publications tailored to contemporary needs. It focuses on propagating Islamic teachings scientifically, producing small but impactful magazines that are freely distributed to those unable to access mosques or lengthy, expensive books.
Since its inception, the organization has printed and distributed millions of such publications, available in both Urdu and English.
Quranic Library and Reading Room
Beyond sending religious messages through the mail, the organization established a reference library and reading room for the local community. The library boasts around five thousand books, while the reading room subscribes to various religious journals, magazines, and daily newspapers in both Urdu and English. University and seminary students frequently visit the library to satisfy their religious curiosity.
The organization’s significant impact is evident in the monthly distribution of constructive, non-political, and non-controversial literature to schools, colleges, government departments, the general public, and even prisons. The positive feedback has been encouraging and is a key reason for the sustained success of this initiative.
